Hoops Engine is a basketball training and performance management app for iOS and Android. Organizations and coaches use it to manage teams and players, run structured practices, take attendance, and record makes and attempts. Players and parents use it to follow session history, progress trends, and team leaderboards.
Who is Hoops Engine designed for?
Hoops Engine is built for basketball organizations and academies, associated and independent coaches, and players and their parents. Each role gets its own experience with only the features that role needs.
How do coaches record a practice session?
Coaches take attendance, then pick a recording mode: One Drill for a quick focused session, Daily Options to build today's practice on the fly, or Practice Plan to run a saved plan drill by drill. During the drill they run a timer and enter makes, attempts, free throw makes, and free throw attempts for each player, then review a session summary.
Can Hoops Engine be used without an internet connection?
Yes. Gyms often have weak or no signal, so practice recording is offline-first. Sessions are saved on the device and synced automatically when a connection returns. The app shows a pending sync counter and clear status colors, green for cloud synced and yellow for saved locally.
Does Hoops Engine use camera-based shot tracking?
No. Makes, attempts, and attendance are entered by the coach. Hoops Engine does not use camera tracking, shot or motion detection, wearables, or sensors.
How do players join an organization?
Players join by invitation. A coach or organization admin adds the player and sends an invitation link or a unique Player Code by email or SMS. The player verifies the code and completes registration. Players under 18 need a parent or guardian's permission.
What does Hoops Engine cost, and how is billing handled?
Hoops Engine has a free tier and paid monthly or yearly plans for coaches and organizations. Paid plans unlock premium drills and features and may raise team or player limits. Subscriptions are billed securely through Stripe, and plan details and prices are shown in the app before you subscribe. Players do not pay.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes. You can cancel from the subscription screen in the app. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you can reactivate before that date. Your card can be updated at any time through Stripe's secure billing portal.
Which devices does Hoops Engine support?
Hoops Engine runs on iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, supporting iOS 13 and later and Android 10 and later.
Is my personal data sold or used for advertising?
No. Hoops Engine does not sell or rent personal information and does not use it for third-party advertising. SMS messages are only used for verification codes and invitations, never for marketing.
